After completing his residency and fellowship training at the
Long Island
College
Hospital in New York City, Dr. Prabhu started his private practice specializing in adult and pediatric allergy, asthma and immunology in
Jacksonville, Florida in January 1982. He is interested in all areas of his specialty, both in children and adults.
Dr. Prabhu is a graduate of the
University of
Bombay and is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and also the American Board of Allergy & Immunology, a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
A past president of the Florida Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Society, Dr. Prabhu serves as the Medical Director of the Community Asthma Partnership at Wolfson’s (CAP-W), a community outreach program of the Wolfson Children’s Hospital and the
Baptist
Medical
Center . He has served and continues to serve as Section Chief for his specialty at several area hospitals and Insurance Carrier Advisory Committees. He has been consistently listed in the ‘Top Doctors’ list locally, regionally and nationally.
Dr. Prabhu’s publications have appeared in such journals as the Journal of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He has presented papers at national and regional professional meetings and actively participates in teaching programs for medical providers.
Dr. Prabhu is actively involved in charitable causes locally, nationally and abroad. Some of the local non-profit Boards he has served on include the American Red Cross, American Lung Association and the Medical Advisory Board of the IM Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless. He was awarded the NFL Community Quarterback Finalist Award by the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation for his contribution to the cause of asthma sufferers in the greater
Jacksonville community.
